First aid course for boaters
First aid course for boaters

In addition to the traditional EA 1 training, the first aid course for boaters includes handling emergencies at sea.

The first aid course for boaters focuses specifically on risk factors and emergencies occurring at sea, and aims to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to respond effectively to accidents and emergencies at sea.

The course is approximately 6 hours long, consisting of theory as online learning, a book, exams and practical exercises.

Compared to the Finnish Red Cross's EA 1 course, which is conducted in a classroom as a lecture, consisting of 16 lessons (45 min each), divided into 2-4 days, you can study the same information content when it suits you and at the pace you want. The content, requirements, knowledge and practical skills of the courses are the same. Only the method of completion is different.

Upon successful completion, an international first aid certificate (EA 1) is awarded, which is valid for 3 years.

The EA 1 certificate is required for the Archipelago Manager, Coastal Manager, Offshore Manager courses and examinations, as well as when applying for an international pleasure boat operator's license and a rental boat operator's license.
